The Ramcharitamanas Prashnavali or Shri Ram Shalaka Prashnavali is an extract from the renowned book Ramcharitramanas by Saint Goswami Tulsidas.
Tulsidas rewrote Ramayana in praise of Bhagwan Ram, known as Ramcharitramanas. Ramayana and Ramcharitramanas describe the life and struggles of Shri Ram. Ramcharitramanas consists of seven extensive chapters depicting the significant incidents in Shri Ram’s life, known as kaand. They are as follows:
- Baalkaand
- Ayodhyakaand
- Aranyakaand
- Kishkindhakaand
- Sundarkaand
- Lankakaand
- Uttarkaand
Each kaand has a life lesson and answers many questions for the readers.
Ram Shalaka Prashnavali is used to predict answers to your questions regarding your future and the endeavors you want to take. The answers are based on the Chaupais (couplets) from Ramcharitramanas. Ram Prashnavali can be used by anyone seeking answers or wanting to overcome any confusion in his/her mind. We can find answers to any question using the Shri Ram Prashna Shalaka.
Ram Prashnavali is a 15×15 grid with an Akshar (a Hindi letter) in each box. There are a total of 225 boxes or squares. These Akshara are from the 9 Chaupais (couplets) of Ramcharitramanas. Every ninth letter in the prashnavali chart is added up to form a verse. When you go back to the first letter of the alphabet, it creates a whole verse with the answer to your question. This way, you can make different verses called chaupai starting from each letter of the chart.

How to use Ram Shalaka Prashnavali?
Take a bath and be clean before using Ram Shalaka Prashnavali. Use it in the morning after you bathe and wear clean clothes. Calm your mind. Close your eyes and meditate on Shri Ram. Then, think of the question you want to ask and place your finger on an Akshar (letter) with your eyes closed. Doing so will get you the answer to your question along with Chapai and Kaand your answer has been taken from.
Do not repeatedly ask the same question if you do not get the desired answer. Do not treat it like a game. Use Ram prashnavali only when you have utter faith in it and are willing to believe in the answer you get. The answers are more than simple, yes or no; they are supposed to guide you if you truly understand it.
Ideally, you should ask one question a day with a clean mind and body. You should not have negative thoughts or energy while using the Ram Prashnavali.
