When has Lord Ram Born?
Although Ramayana has got the status of being a legend, the Ram Bhaktas want to know when was Lord Rama Born. The research shows two dates. I will put forward both the dates before you. However, the calculation itself of the age of Lord Ram is mainly determined by the inscription given in the Ramayana written by Sage Valmiki. One is confirmed that there are various Ramayana by different authors from time to time each having its own interpretation of the mool legend. According to Valmiki Ramayana, Rama was born in Ayodhya, India on the 9th day of the Chaitra Lunar Month when Moon and Jupiter were rising in the east in Cancer Sign and 4 other planets namely Sun, Mars, Saturn, and Venus were exalted in their exaltation signs. After doing all the calculations, it is proposed that Lord Ram was born 1.2 million years ago, in the Treta Yuga, an age which lasted for 1,296,000 years. However, the composition of Ramayana in its current form is usually dated to the 7th – 4th century BCE.
According to another calculation, source: SerVeda when all the data is entered into the ‘Planetarium Gold’ software the results show that Rama was born at noontime in the 10th of January in the year 5114 BC. The software also shows up the birthday of Lord Rama happened to be on the 9th day of the Shukla Paksha, time around 12 to 1 noon in the month of Chaitra. This is exactly the time and date when Ramnavmi is celebrated all over India till date.
So we see that actually there is a conflict as far as the Age of Lord Rama is confirmed. If we assume Lord Rama as a historical figure, then the time and date of his birth are very important. However, the Bhaktas of Lord Rama rejoices in the very presence of Lord Rama blessings which are always there for his bhaktas. Ramayana still is the source of Rama blessings towards his bhaktas.
From our side, we do believe that there should be more research and a common date of birth should be found for Lord Rama that should be agreed by one and all. However, till then one should rejoice in the name of Lord Rama, who is an avatar of Vishnu, who took birth to free us from the evil forces and establish the pious rule of Ram Rajya.
